1.1 Overview

• These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the BE TAXI app and services ("we", "us", "our"), a Hackney Carriage black taxi booking platform based in Milton Keynes and operating across the UK.
• By booking a taxi through our app, you agree to these Terms.

1.2 Booking and Payment

• All bookings must be made via the BE TAXI app.
• Fares are calculated based on time, distance, and location, in accordance with local licensing authorities.
• Payments are processed securely through the app. Drivers do not accept cash unless otherwise permitted in your local area.

1.3 Promotions and Discounts

• 20% discount is available for your first ride only as a new customer.
• The first-ride discount is only valid when payment is made by card through the BE TAXI app.
• Discounts cannot be transferred, exchanged for cash, or combined with other offers unless otherwise stated.
• BE TAXI reserves the right to modify or withdraw any promotion at any time without prior notice.

1.4 Cancellations and Refunds

• You may cancel a booking within 5 minutes of confirmation to receive a full refund.
• If cancellation occurs after 5 minutes, a partial refund will be issued to cover admin and driver allocation costs.
• If the driver has already arrived or the journey has started, no refund will be given.
• In the event of a “no show”, the fare will be charged in full.

1.5 Passenger Conduct and Safety

• Passengers must behave respectfully toward drivers at all times.
• Abusive, threatening, or discriminatory behaviour will result in service refusal and possible account suspension.
• Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Child safety seats are not provided unless stated otherwise.
• No smoking, vaping, or consumption of alcohol is permitted in the vehicle.

1.6 Delays and Liability

• BE TAXI will aim to connect you with a driver promptly but cannot guarantee arrival times due to traffic, weather, or other external conditions.
• We are not liable for any missed appointments, trains, flights, or personal losses due to transport delays.
• Customers are responsible for ensuring they leave enough travel time for their journey.

2.1 Driver Status

• Drivers are self-employed and operate under their respective Hackney Carriage licenses.
• Drivers must comply with all local licensing authority rules, vehicle inspection requirements, and insurance laws.

2.2 Use of the BE TAXI Driver App

• Drivers must maintain an active profile and accept ride requests via the BE TAXI Driver App.
• Use of the app constitutes agreement to BE TAXI's commission structure, payment terms, and policies.

2.3 Payments, Fees, and Promotions

• BE TAXI processes all passenger payments and distributes fares (minus commission, if applicable) to drivers on a regular payment schedule.
• Promotional offers to drivers, such as 0% commission, mean the driver retains 100% of the fare (excluding any third-party processing fees).
• Driver promotions may be withdrawn or changed at any time without notice.
• BE TAXI will provide advance notice of any permanent changes to commission rates.

2.4 Driver Conduct

• Drivers must treat passengers with courtesy and maintain a clean, roadworthy vehicle.
• Rude, unsafe, or discriminatory behaviour may result in suspension or removal from the platform.
• Repeated cancellations or refusal of rides without a valid reason may affect driver account status.
• Drivers must comply with local Hackney Carriage by-laws, including appropriate display of taxi plates and licensing documents.

2.5 Data and Privacy

• Drivers agree to the collection and processing of data necessary for app functionality, payments, and legal compliance.
• Drivers must not misuse customer data or share journey information outside of BE TAXI’s system.

• BE TAXI reserves the right to modify these terms at any time. Notice of significant changes will be provided in the app or via email.
• Continued use of BE TAXI services after changes are made constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
• These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
